What did Jesus say about prayer?

As I have considered the above question in the last few weeks our Father has allowed me to teach on the topic a few times and now this blog post. I really sensed that in our determination to get our needs met our perspective on prayer has become twisted. I believe witchcraft prayers have been glamorised as true prayers. It is imperative that as we seek to walk out the will of God that our perspective on prayer carries NO MIXTURE but oozes the very HEART OF GOD. Our God hates mixture.  Jesus said in Revelations 3:15-16 ‘I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot; I wish that you were cold or hot. So because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of My mouth.

In Matthew 6 Jesus said that we are not to let our prayers be about a PUBLIC DISPLAY OF ELOQUENCE, our NEEDSs nor our MANY WORDS….This really challenged me and made me question how many of us are really praying?
1. TRUE Prayer does not originate from earth

In my first book, Walking in Oneness Taking the Father by the Hand I was lead to write a chapter on what it means to pray in oneness with God. One of the truths I have found with prayer is that PRAYER DOES NOT ORIGINATE FROM EARTH. IF we think prayer originates from earth then there will be a need to try and lead an OMNISCIENT-ALL KNOWING GOD or question the OMNIPOTENCE of an all powerful God. Questions like:- Where is God and all these people are starving, dying, persecuted? The question is more what can I do as an ambassador of Christ to help those who are starving?(A blog for another day). When we truly understand that prayer does not originate from earth we will seek to align with heaven or walk in oneness with what heaven is saying. Therefore prayer is submitting to the will of God rather than trying to dictate to God our own will. For heaven and earth to synchronise we must know what heaven is saying and align with that truth.
2. TRUE Prayer causes us to become aware of God

Prayer helps to remove limitations that causes us to have a jaundiced view of the MATCHLESS GOD we serve. IT reminds us that our God is bound by nothing. He is able to do immeasurably more than we could ask or imagine. Prayer reminds us whose we are that our DADDY IS GOD. Hence reminding us  God is our true SOURCE and SUPPLIER. IF you limit God to the amount of money in your bank account, or whether you have a good income or not then we will approach prayer as someone who is in lack. The bible says in Psalm 23 The Lord is my shepherd I shall not lack. A revelation of God as Shepherd nullifies the begging and pleading. Instead, thanking God for being a good Shepherd who takes cares of His own and is willing to leave 99 just to find one. As we thank Him, His true nature and character is revealed to you and silences every tormenting thought of any need in question.

No one likes to be controlled nor used. IF the goal of praying is to get God to do what we want, we are manipulating God. If in our prayer for someone our motive is tor our own peace, so that we will not have no pain, then our motive or the intentions of our heart is in question. True prayer is NOT marinated in fear but faith. When our prayer is motivated by fear we are using prayer  as a medium to control others. Our God knows what you need.  I believe He wants us to express our emotions and to completely release that person into His care. When we  know the solution is not in how much we pray or saying the right words …but rather in a God who knows the person you are praying for very well and only He can change their hearts; there is no need to manipulate.  If you feel by praying you can make something happen then we are deceived and are releasing witchcraft prayers. Prayers of control are fuelled by fear and causes the person you are praying for to be bound. Every time we give into manipulating we have begun to create in our own ability rather than to invite our everlasting God to do only what He can do. Refuse to fuel the spirit of control, spirit of fear spirit of witchcraft instead look to God wholeheartedly that every problem is a prayer point but the solution is also in our Father in Heaven.Let’s seek out His solution.

reveals the heart of God
aligns us with His will
exposes our hearts
exposes what is blocking our prayers from being answered
releases God’s transcending peace
causes greater freedom
brings us in His PRESENCE
anchors us in the eternal rather than the temporary

LET US PRAY: Releasing the heart of God as we are lead by His Spirit, Align ourselves with His will, His nature and character and finally let’s break all agreements with negative spirits and bind ourselves to seek out the mind and heart of God.

LORD TEACH US HOW TO PRAY; Give us sensitivity of mixture. IJMN
